At present 85 SHG’s are active in urban slum and villages on Nagpur-Kalmeshwar road. SHG is a tool to make participating women self-reliant in terms of monitoring aspect and to be part of decision making. Women are imparted training in leadership skills, book keeping, reporting, managerial skills and entrepreneurship development. The self-explanatory record system has been developed and SHG’s are maintaining it properly. Our staff team is well equipped to conduct training on SHG’s for grass root workers and participating community. Now CNI-SSI is in the process of making Federation of the existing SHGs.

Women's in the SHGs are encouraged to initiate their own enterprise, they are imparted trainings such as making washing powder, garment making, pickles, fruit preservation, phenol making etc.
